Stay Stories

The keepsake at the end of a stay

A Stay Story is a short illustrated report of your dog’s time with us — what they were like, how the days went, and the one moment worth telling you about. Real stories are private to their owner and live in the portal. The examples below are written samples with fictional dogs and fictional dates.

Juniper & Bear

Fictional example · a beagle mix and a shepherd mix, housemates

Juniper walked in nose-first and had opinions about the whole ground floor inside ninety seconds. Bear waited by the door, watched her do it, and only came in once she'd finished. We built the stay around that difference rather than trying to smooth it out.

Marlow

Fictional example · a senior terrier mix

Marlow is fourteen. He likes people, tolerates dogs, and will absolutely tell you when he's had enough — which is a gift, because it means we never had to guess.

Overnight boarding

Pepper & Domino

Fictional example · two young spaniels

Some dogs need decompression. These two needed a job. The stay was built around structured play with real rest scheduled in between, because left to themselves they would not have stopped.

What’s inside one

Personality read

What we noticed about how your dog moves through a new space — written plainly, not scored.

Day snapshot

Morning to night: yard time, meals, rest, play, and who they chose to be near.

Favourite moment

The one thing from the stay we'd tell you about if you asked in person.

Care notes

Meals, medication, toileting and anything worth carrying into the next stay.

Photo pages

The good ones. Not thirty near-identical shots of a dog mid-blink.

Saved to the profile

Everything learned goes into your pet's profile, so the next stay starts where this one finished.

Why they come back

Stories from families

All reviews on Rover

“Really conscientious dog lovers.”

A first-time Rover family. They described the house set-up and the attention to safety: AirTags checked at drop-off, double-gated entry and exit points, frequent updates — and towel pathways laid down for a dog who was nervous on tile and wood floors. That last one was an accommodation made for that dog, not a standing feature.
